About The Artwork
Big Maybelle
Do you love the blues? I do. Big Maybelle was one of those strong-raspy voices. I think when she sings, you can feel the vibrations in the room. My vision of her is sitting on stage having a cigarette perspiring from the powerful lights in a packed club. I can see the piano player pounding away on the keys and swaying left and right, keeping the crowd going until she’s ready for her next set. This is the blues. Do you feel it?
