About The Artwork
Dr. Cornel West
I have been listening to Dr. West for years and I thought now is the time to immortalize him in a painting that would be worthy of his stature. As I was working, putting down the strokes in the foreground and background, I let the potency of his words guide my hand. I blasted the canvas with strong elegant strokes while continuously adding soft gentle marks that flowed around the canvas.
Dr. Cornel West is an original acrylic painting on unstretched canvas that is part of my continuing Everyday Black series.
