Vincent Keele Fine Art

The connection between music and art is a strong bond. I often listen to music when I'm creating art, and sometimes, it becomes the art itself. "Black and Blue" is a medley of hues of blue with musical splashes of black. This concept came to me while listening to Louis Armstrong's mesmerizing trumpet. In his song "Black and Blue," he sings about his success as a musician and the love people had for him, all while enduring the racism of the day. This painting reflects my attempt to see the world through his eyes in a two-dimensional form. What did I do to be so black and blue?
